Job Description
Position Summary: Responsible for assisting certified teachers in providing quality academic and enrichment activities in the True Blue Neighbors Youth Scholars program ( TBNYS ). Essential Responsibilities: Assist with classroom instruction and supervision of students. Assist with program attendance. Support a safe equitable learning environment for students of all racial cultural and socio-economic backgrounds. Supervise outside inside and outside extracurricular activities. Implement age-appropriate activities that support the academic development of students and meet the goals of the TBNYS program. Help maintain a clean and organized learning environment. Check classroom/program equipment to ensure they are in good condition. Attend all required professional development and training opportunities. Attend family engagement events and activities. Maintain a positive attitude and work with others as a member of a team.
Physical Demands
Employees must be able to walk stand and sit during program and training sessions. Light occasional lifting up to 10 lbs.
Required Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: Experience working with children Computer literacy skills High School diploma or GED Effective communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications: Previous K-12 program experience Bilingual in English/Spanish
