Responsibilities:
Manages supervises coaches and mentors shop personnel and contractor support. Responsible for shop timesheets. Work-flow management- Work order and Preventive Maintenance reviews. Guidance to technicians to diagnoses and correct plant issues. Oversee shop tools and equipment (purchase calibration needs maintenance). Has Hold-Off Card responsibility involving assurances of electrical outage. Understands & Ensures team follows NFPA70E requirements. Communicates with other departments on a regular basis concerning work requirements. Inspects contractors work occasionally for compliance with specifications and reports progress to effect periodic payments to contractors. Assures compliance with safety standards. Directs training and skills development of employees and performs on-the-job training. Supports outage planning and manpower needs. Performs employee reviews feedback and disciplinary actions if needed. Provides input for shop budgetary requirements and approves/denies expenses as needed. NERC- Relays Batteries voltage regulators and compliance.
The expected salary range for this position is $125000.00 to $135000.00. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience and other job-related factors as permitted by law. Successful candidates will also participate in Talen Energys Short-Term Incentive program.

Skills/Competencies:
Knowledge of switching and grounding operations. Knowledge of acceptable electrical practices codes regulations and OSHA. Skill in diagnosing and correcting electrical problems. Team Building Decision Quality Informing Technical/Professional Skills Business Acumen Developing Direct Reports and Planning/Process Management. Understanding of NERC requirements.
Education & Experience Required:
Over six years of experience in electrical maintenance or installation of electrical equipment in electric generating plants. Experience with low and high voltage equipment and control devices. Experience safely leading teams in a fast-paced work environment.
Licenses/Certifications Required:
Possession of a valid drivers license and ability to meet Company driving standards.
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:
Must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment including a computer stamina to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions vision to read printed materials and a computer screen for long period of time. Hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the phone. It may be necessary at times to visit power plants coal combustions byproduct landfills or other potentially hazardous industrial locations primarily for the purpose of evaluating compliance. At times an individual may respond to environmental release situations.

Occupationally hazardous noise exposure may occur in the power plant or other locations where heavy industrial equipment is in use.
