We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Estates Technician with GIS AutoCAD or similar drawing experience to join our Property Services Estates team. The team are responsible for the councils non-housing property portfolio of over 1400 assets. Comprising of approximately 1 million sq. ft. with an annual rental income of approximately also complete a number of acquisitions and disposal transactions each year all in support of council priorities and individual service requirements.
The Estates Technician will work as a key member of the Estates team carrying out a range of activities to support the operation of the estates function including property inspection measurement plan production resolution of boundary issues and associated administration.
The role requires a mix of administrative and practical skills such as production of AutoCAD plans database management organisational abilities and problem-solving to ensure council buildings and land are well managed and performing effectively.
You will possess a positive and flexible attitude and be able to work in a reactive environment responding to tasks timeously.
The Person
The ideal candidate will have a property or estates background with knowledge and/or experience of:
GIS systems.
Preparing CAD plans (2D).
Managing data.
Interpreting property titles/legal documents.
You will require to liaise with a range of council staff including solicitors planners and the general public by phone email and letter.
Reporting to the Lead Professional Estates you will join an existing team of Surveyors and Technicians whilst working alongside the wider Assets and Property teams.

Problem-Solving Skills:To identify and address issues related to council properties.
Teamwork and Communication:Working effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.
Specific Skills (Desirable): Experience of setting out and recording site surveys; Experience in interpreting Title Deeds and legal documents; IT skills particularly Microsoft apps Property Information Systems GIS and AutoCAD; Experience working under pressure to meet deadlines.

Key responsibilities include:
GIS and CAD Work:
Assisting in the preparation of plans maps and data using GIS and AutoCAD software.
Data Management:
Recording reviewing and maintaining data in GIS systems which could involve historical records or property information.
Site Work:
Inspecting measuring and surveying sites and buildings often involving the use of technology to record and interpret data.
Estate and Property Support:
Assisting with tasks related to land ownership servitudes & wayleaves leases and acquisitions/disposals.
Stakeholder Interaction:
Dealing with queries from the public and council colleagues and engaging with utility companies on issues e.g. wayleaves.
Property and Lease Management:
Supporting the property management of the councils estate where the council has heritable title or a leasehold interest.
Record Keeping:
Diarising estate management activities and ensuring accurate records are maintained.
