Job Description
DYS is seeking a Nurse Supervisor to oversee and facilitate medical services to youth at the Indian River Juvenile Correctional Facility. The ideal candidate will be a strong leader with a solid nursing background and a passion to habilitate youth.
Duties may include but are not limited to:
- Plans directs and evaluates all nursing care services
- Establishes and implements nursing care programs
- Reviews and updates current nursing care program programs
- Serves as nursing liaison with other units in organization to ensure services are coordinated
Supervises nursing staff (i.e. schedule assign and review work of nursing staff)

The final candidate selected for this position will be required to undergo a criminal background check and pre-employment drug screening. PRE-SERVICE TRAINING:
The final candidate selected will be required to attend 3 weeks of mandatory paid Pre-Service Training at the DYS Training Academy in Orient Ohio. DYS provides transportation lodging and meals. Pre-Service Training is Monday - Thursday 7:00 am - 5:00 pm.

Requires current licensure as registered professional nurse in state of Ohio as issued by Board of Nursing per Section 4723.03 of Ohio Revised Code; 24 mos. exp. as registered nurse; 1 course or 3 mos. counseling; 1 course or 3 mos. interviewing; 3 courses or 9 mos. public relations; 3 courses or 9 mos. employee training & development; 6 courses or 18 mos. management.
-Or 6 mos. exp. as Nurse 2 65513.
-Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above may be substituted for the experience required but not for the mandated licensure.
