Job Description
Job Summary/Purpose The CNC Machinist II produces machined parts by setting up and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machines maintaining quality and safety standards keeping records and maintaining equipment and supplies. The CNC Machinist will also be responsible for supporting production through the tooling process. As necessary the CNC Machinist may engage in CNC programming practices to create and cut new tools for production.
Essential Duties
Read blueprints sketches or computer-aided design (CAD) and computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) files for making tools and dies
Compute and verify dimensions sizes shapes and tolerances of workpieces
Set up operate and disassemble conventional manual and computer numerically controlled (CNC) machine tools Test completed tools and dies to ensure they meet specifications
Monitor the feed and speed of the machines
Operate CNC Lathes Mills and VMCs
Measure examine and test completed tools and dies for defects
Smooth and polish the surfaces of tools and dies
Clean through various processes; Ice blast sand blast and lathe
Pull stage deliver tools to molding and put away tools
Present finished workpieces to production and make modifications if needed Operate manual horizontal lathe machine for the purpose of polishing tools Perform daily 5S duties Other duties as assigned

Physical Requirements Lifting up to 50 lbs. Bending Reaching Hand/finger manipulation Crawling Climbing
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
At least 2 years prior experience machining precision products and tools on a CNC machine (set-up AND operation)
Good verbal and written communication skills
Reliable and predictable attendance
Preferred Qualifications
CNC Programming experience
