A Day in the Life:
The Bunge North America Bellevue Ohio location is looking for a Lab Technician for our processing/refinery plant. This position is responsible for the integrity and safety of food and feed products throughout the manufacturing process utilizing various standards and established testing methods operating procedures and adherence to protocols and policies.
Position Details:
- Pay Rate: $28.85 ($0.50 Shift Prem)
- Night Shift; 4:45p-5:00a (rotating 12-hour shifts)
- Must have availability to work weekends & holidays
Essential Functions:
- Routine analytical testing of products produced at the plant.
- Data entry for testing results using QA database.
- Prepare testing solutions equipment calibrations and upkeep of the laboratory.
- Maintain lab equipment.
- Participate in plant/department safety training and activities.
- Troubleshoot problems with lab equipment or testing operations.
- Assist with projects as needed in the lab setting.
- Update standard work in lab and equipment information as directed by supervisor.
- Commitment to supply safe food maintain a food safety culture within the site continually improve the sites food safety management system; and comply with customer and regulatory requirements
Required Skills/Experience:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Some college classes with Chemistry/Biology emphasis preferred.
- Computer skills including the use of Word and Excel programs.
- Good decision making and teamwork skills are essential.
- Ability to operate lab equipment and hand tools is required.
- Ability to work independently in an accurate manner.
- Good attendance and reliability are critical.
- Ability to follow written procedures and instructions.
- Requires good organization and communication skills plus the ability to multi-task.
- Able to stand and work a 12-hour shift days or nights.
- Will be required to work alone at times.
Physical Work and Environment Requirements:
- Must be able to tolerate soybean and dust as possible allergens at a soybean processing plant
- Ability to work in extreme temperatures
- Ability to work tolerate working at various heights as required on man lifts
