Job Summary

Ohel is seeking a dynamic and organized professional to fill a Management role to overseethe dailyoperations of the Entitlements Department. The department supports our clients with Developmental Disabilities or Mental Illnessto maintaintheir eligibility and participation in major government entitlement programs such as Social Security/SSI Medicaid and Food Stamps.

Responsibilities:

  • Overseeapplicationsplanningandrecertifications for clients
  • Train and mentor entitlement specialists ensuring high performance and professional development
  • Manage the daily workflow prioritize tasks delegate assignments and ensure accurate and timely processing of entitlements applications and renewals
  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes enhance service delivery and develop new initiatives to better meet client needs
  • Collaboratewith managers across the agency to ensure positive outcomes
  • Establish and maintain connections with external agencies insurance providers and other community resources
  • Ensure compliancewithMedicaid Social Security regulations and other governmental programs as well as organizational policies
  • Work with clients and family members to maintain benefits addressdifficult issues and advocateon their behalf in hearings or appeals

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree preferred with a minimum of two (2) years of supervisory experience
  • Knowledge of entitlement requirements for NYS-OMH NYS-OPWDD and NJ-DDD participants as well as Medicaid Social Security and other government programs
  • Excellent organizational verbal and written communication skills

Successful candidate will have leadershipexperience be intrinsically motivated and have the ability to work both independently as well as part of a in Microsoft Word and Excel required. Position includes a competitive benefits package including health insurance and generous paid time off. This full time position is based in Brooklyn.
