Bunkie LA 71322Louisiana Office of Juvenile Justice (OJJ) is committed to protecting the public by providing safe and effective individualized services to youth who will become productive law-abiding citizens. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Training and Development Specialist to lead and support staff development initiatives across the agency. This role is essential to ensuring that employees are equipped with the knowledge skills and competencies needed to serve justice-involved youth effectively and safely. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in instructional design adult learning principles and a passion for workforce development in a mission-driven environment.

Minimum Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Three years of experience in planning developing delivering or evaluating training programs or academic instruction; human resources or administrative services; OR
Six years of full-time experience in any field; OR
A bachelors degree.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.Job Specification

Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties:
Design develop and deliver training programs for staff at all levels including onboarding compliance and professional development
Conduct needs assessments to identify skill gaps and recommend targeted learning solutions
Facilitate in-person and virtual training sessions using engaging interactive methods
Evaluate training effectiveness and adjust content based on feedback and performance metrics
Maintain accurate training records and ensure compliance with state and agency requirements
Collaborate with subject matter experts supervisors and leadership to align training with operational goals
Support certification programs continuing education and leadership development initiatives
Stay current with best practices in juvenile justice trauma-informed care and instructional technology
