At our Wilson North Carolina site we are committed to saving lives as an industry leader in the design and manufacturing of fire protection systems for commercial and military aircraft and ground vehicles.
Immerse yourself in a full-time Monday-Friday co-op session that will run January-August (including the Spring semester; it is expected students will take a semester off from coursework to fully engage with this working mentorship opportunity).
What You Will Do:
- Support process improvement projects focused on productivity.
- Collect analyze and interpret operational data to identify opportunities for optimization.
- Conduct time studies workflow analysis and capacity planning projects.
- Support the implementation of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for optimization and standardization
- Create and maintain documentation such as process maps and standard work instructions
What You Will Learn:
- Application of industrial engineering principles in a real-world production environment.
- Process optimization techniques and tools such as 5S Kaizen and value stream mapping
- Networking opportunities through exposure to cross-functional team members and leaders within our organization.
- Professional development in communication teamwork and leadership within a corporate setting.
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelors or advanced degree in an applicable discipline.
- U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Familiarity with data analysis tools (Minitab SQL Power BI etc.)
- Experience in AutoCAD or equivalent
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel PowerPoint Word).
- Coursework or project experience in lean manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies

The salary range for this role is 37000 USD - 82000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
