Job Description

Oakhill College is an Independent Catholic Secondary School conducted in the Lasallian tradition with an enrolment of 2250 students boys Years 7 to 10 co-educational in Years 11 and 12. Oakhill College is located in Castle Hill NSW and offers a wide range of subject choices and extra-curricular activities.

Academic Head of Religious Education (Coordinator 3)

Commencing Term 1 2026

We seek to appoint an innovative and highly skilled Academic Head of Religious Education with excellent leadership communication skills and classroom experience. The successful applicant will have an understanding of the education of boys knowledge of current developments in teaching and learning and a passion and enthusiasm for teaching.

The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate knowledge of and experience in the areas listed below:

  • Support the vision purpose values and strategic priorities of the College;
  • Proven ability to effectively administer a faculty and lead learning;
  • Highly effective skilled classroom practitioner with experience teaching Year 7 - 12 Religious Education and Studies of Religion;
  • Effectively manage and facilitate safe and supportive learning environments with an understanding of positive
  • student wellbeing practices;
  • Be able to work collaboratively as part of a dynamic professional learning community;
  • Have highly developed interpersonal presentation and communication skills and the ability to develop positive relationships with staff students parent/carers and community members;
  • Align professional learning to the needs of students;
  • Developing a climate of excellence;
  • Sound pedagogical practices;
  • Inspiring students to aspire;
  • Be willing to contribute to the broader extracurricular endeavors of College life as an active member of the College community.

The successful applicant will:

  • Demonstrate a clear understanding and commitment to the Mission of the Catholic School;
  • Ensure that the school delivers high quality contemporary learning and teaching for the community it serves embedded in the Catholic world view
  • Lead a collaborative ministry of witness and service as part of the evangelizing mission of the Church
  • Be supportive of the Lasallian ethos of the College;
  • Adhere to the Colleges Safeguarding Standards and Child Protection policies and procedures;
  • Be an experienced innovative and engaging team leader;
  • Teach with excellence professionalism and commitment;
  • Demonstrate ICT integrations skills;
  • Be committed to professional growth and development of excellence.

The appointment is for an initial period of up to 3 years renewable by mutual agreement.

Any offer of employment will be conditional on the applicant providing evidence of their vaccination status which may be an immunisation history statement COVID-19 digital certificate or approved medical contraindication certificate.
