Job Summary

Within the Ads Modules Diversity & Verticals team we try to connect the dots between the aspirations of pinners and the products offered by our partners. Were a high-impact group that owns the entire lifecycle of our products from initial ideation to production deployment. Were driven by a passion for solving complex large-scale problems at the intersection of machine learning user experience and business growth.

As a Staff ML Engineer youll be a key technical leader playing a crucial role in shaping the direction of vertical ads products and collaborating closely with product managers data scientists designers and engineers across the company to deliver impactful pinner-facing ad products end-to-end.

What youll do:

Define and drive the strategy and roadmap for our vertical ads products shaping the future of ad experiences on Pinterest.
Lead the end-to-end development of production-grade machine learning models to enhance ad triggering ranking and selection thereby optimizing the ads marketplace systems for bidding budgeting and ad placement.
Collaborate closely with product managers data scientists designers and engineers across the company to ship impactful user-facing ad products.
Serve as a technical mentor for other engineers elevating the teams expertise in machine learning system design and best practices.

What were looking for:

MS or PhD degree in Computer Science Machine Learning or related field
6 years of industry experience
2 years of experience leading projects/teams
Strong software engineering mathematical and analytical skills
Exceptional strategic thinking communication and collaboration skills.
Hands-on experience with large-scale online e-commerce systems is a plus
Background in computational advertising is preferred

This role will need to be in the office for in-person collaboration 1-2 times/month and therefore needs to be in a commutable distance from one of the following offices: San Francisco Palo Alto Seattle
