Job Description
Burkes is an independent K-8 gender-inclusive all-girls school located on a 3.5-acre campus in San Francisco. Burkes is one of Californias leading K-8 schools with a 117-year tradition of educational excellence. Position Description
The After School Teacher plays an important role in creating a safe engaging and supportive environment for students in grades K8 during after-school hours. This position requires a positive and energetic individual who enjoys working with children is proactive in ensuring safety and is committed to fostering fun and meaningful experiences.

Burkes is seeking a positive energetic candidate to support the after school program. The ideal candidate is collaborative flexible adaptable and enjoys working with children aged 5-10 years old. The after school instructor will begin with training and assisting the team to eventually take over the lead teachers position while out on maternity leave. This position can be filled for the rest of the school year with opportunities to continue the following school year. Flexible assistance is sought within the days/hours of Monday-Friday 1:00-6:00pm.
Job Responsibilities include:
- Welcoming K-8 students after school
- Supervising the safety of indoor and outdoor environments and enjoys being outdoors
- Using a walkie talkie to communicate pick-up information
- Leading and creating structured games and activities indoors and outdoors
- Communicating effectively with Director of After School Programs and colleagues to maintain a positive working environment

Requirements
Position Qualifications
- Experience working with children (at least 1-2 years)
- High School Graduate and pursuing higher education
- Enthusiasm maturity good work ethic and enjoys working with children
- CPR and First Aid certified (or willing to become CPR certified)

Compensation
