Job Summary:
Exciting opportunity to help determine the impact of cannabis on driving among older adults. This project will examine the acute effects of cannabis on driving performance and driving-related psychomotor performance in older adults and how these effects may vary by age underlying cognitive function and frequency of use to inform driving safety in older adults who consume this part-time (30%-40% FTE) role you will have primary responsibility for collecting simulated driving and psychomotor performance data and biospecimens from study participants and monitoring their comfort and safety during visits when they use or do not use cannabis. Evening or Saturday work may occasionally be required.
Thisposition is subject to fundingavailability and will be for aperiod of two years.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct participant performance assessments including simulated driving and psychomotor performance and cannabis consumption data through surveys interviews and computerized data collection systems (including desktop and tablet interfaces).
Collect venous and fingerstick blood specimens from research participants using peripheral venous catheters venipuncture and capillary fingersticks.
Process blood and urine samples onsite.
Perform tasks without direct supervision except for infrequent occasions involving the most complex situations.

Onsite this role is expected to work onsite in an off-campus location in Denver Colorado.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
Ability to gather data through surveys interviews and computerized data collection systems (including desktop and tablet interfaces).
Ability to perform venipunctures peripheral intravenous catheter placements and fingersticks to obtain blood specimens.
Technical skills for monitoring the health and safety of study participants including measurement of vital signs and assessment of patient stability during study visits (some of which involve cannabis use by participants).
Ability to communicate effectively both in writing and orally with older adult participants and study team members.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with research team.
Ability to perform meticulous record-keeping and documentation of data.

Anticipated Pay Range:
The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as HIRING RANGE:
$15123 to $17400 for 30% of a 1.0 Full-time position
$20164 to $23200 for 40% of a 1.0 Full-time position
The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the Universitys good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation unless it is non-exempt. Your total compensation goes beyond the number on your paycheck.
