D-Orbit is seeking a Product Assurance Manager to join our growing Quality and Product Assurance team with responsibility for the product assurance and safety of the platforms of D-Orbit.

Within this team you will drive the quality of the assigned business line and related projects composed by both platforms and services. You will report to the Head of Product Assurance.

The Product Assurance Manager will be responsible for the development implementation and maintenance of product assurance and the related safety engineering and management program of the entire cycle of the assigned projects/products. You will carry out technological research (R&D) in the fields of PA&S management techniques methodologies and tools. You will collaborate in standardization and training activities.

In particular this position has a strong focus on avionic systems and equipment.

Key Responsibilities & Tasks:

  • Prepare and implement general and project-specific programmatic and technical documentation as well as requirements starting from the applicable product and quality assurance baseline.
  • Responsible for preparing PA documentation for proposals of the assigned platform.
  • Responsible for estimations (duration and resource profile) of PA involvement in proposals / new internal projects.
  • Perform tailoring and statement of compliance on externally provided project requirements.
  • Manage Product Assurance deliverables status within specific projects and related RIDs and AIs from the Customer.
  • Ensure compliance of products and services with respect to internal and external standards and requirements.
  • Manage quality related user stories for the assigned business line.
  • Support technology roadmaps managing quality aspects.
  • Work in synergy with PA Engineering team providing PA&S guidance.
  • Work in synergy with project leading team providing PA&S guidance.
  • Coordinate and review the work of PA&S experts on specific projects.
  • Monitor and report about subcontractor and supplier quality to ensure compliance with applicable requirements; this includes auditing activities.
  • Support the establishment and the implementation of standards and best practices in the product and quality assurance field.
  • Support the implementation of the configuration management system on D-Orbit projects.
  • Manage non-conformances through root cause analysis and be NRB chairperson.

Requirements:

  • At least 5 years of proven experience in managing space product assurance activities in multiple complex projects experience with institutions is required.
  • Bachelor or higher engineering degree in any relevant engineering area.
  • Experience in leading PA&S topics within Space projects with strong focus on avionic systems.
  • Experience working with Space institutional customers.
  • Experience working within a quality assurance environment.
  • Experience in the technical domains covered by the position.
  • Experience with Space Quality Standards (and Space Standards in general) their implementation and of the space industry in general.
  • Experience with EN9100 standard.
  • Experience working with requirements management tool.
