Job Description
Building companies is hard. Bifrost Defence makes it easier by acting as a co-founder to ambitious technologists inventors and service personnel co-building mission-critical defence and dual-use startups from the ground up. We bring capital operational firepower company-building expertise marketing muscle and deep industry networks to help founders turn bold ideas into fundable high-impact companies.
Established in August 2025 we have just launched our first company and are now ramping up. We expect to build 3 ventures per year and need the best talent to join this ambitious journey.
Tasks
As the Strategy & Operations Lead of Bifrost Defence you will drive investment execution and strategy processes with early stage ventures in the defence and dual-use verticals. Your responsibilities will include:
Outcome 1: Lead 13 high-quality venture investments into deeptech founders within the first 12 months.
- Own the full investment lifecycle: sourcing diligence decision-making and onboarding
- Forge co-founder-level partnerships with exceptional technical talent in AI/ML robotics or defence tech
Outcome 2: Act as a high-leverage execution partner to 12 portfolio companies at a time
- Join and drive weekly execution cadences to materially advance company maturity
- Provide hands-on support in fundraising hiring GTM and operations
- Translate between commercial needs and technical vision with fluency and credibility
Outcome 3: Run core operations processes in Bifrost Defence
- Oversee internal operations such as investor updates governance planning and strategic processes
- Upgrade our venture building model to increase the hit rate and velocity of each venture we build
Requirements
- 24 years in a top-tier structured environment (e.g. MBB consulting investment banking Government Public Agency)
- Strong technical fluency demonstrated through:
- A STEM degree (e.g. engineering computer science physics) or
- Hands-on experience in a deeptech dual-use or defence startup/company
- Proven ability to drive business outcomes in ambiguous environments with limited oversight
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across technical and commercial domains
- Bonus: Familiarity with AI/ML robotics aerospace or national security-relevant technologies
- Bonus: Served in NATO military
