Job Summary:
This role is for a Surgical Technologist to provide surgical support in a Level I Trauma Center Magnet-designated acute care hospital. The position requires a minimum of three years of experience and proficiency in a wide range of surgical specialties including general surgery gynecology neurosurgery orthopedics and trauma. Weekend and on-call responsibilities are required.

Responsibilities:
- Assisting surgeons during surgical procedures across various specialties (General Surgery Gynecology Neurosurgery Orthopedics Plastic Surgery Urology ENT Trauma).
- Preparing surgical instruments equipment and supplies.
- Maintaining a sterile surgical field.
- Assisting with patient positioning and draping.
- Handling and labeling specimens.
- Following aseptic techniques isolation precautions radiation safety sharps safety and universal protocol.
- Performing post-operative cleanup and sterilization.
- Floating within the scope of practice to meet facility needs.
- Participating in emergency management procedures (fire safety).
- Utilizing various surgical equipment including drills electrosurgical units and fiber optic light sources.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Surgical Technologist.
- BLS certification.
- Proficiency in a wide range of surgical specialties (detailed in the input).
- Experience in a Level I Trauma Center and Teaching Hospital setting.
- Experience with various surgical equipment and instrumentation.
- Knowledge of aseptic technique isolation precautions radiation safety sharps safety specimen handling and universal protocol.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- CST certification.
- Experience in a Magnet hospital.
Special Considerations:
- Weekend work is required (once a month 16 hours).
- On-call responsibilities are required as needed.
- Must live within 50 miles of the facility.
- Must be in IL 3 business days prior to compliance HDD for fingerprinting.
- RTO restrictions require discussion with the manager; all time off must be approved.
- Guaranteed hours: Client may call-off up to 36 hours per thirteen-week assignment without penalty; beyond that the client will be billed. On-call shifts in lieu of call-offs count as called-off shifts.
Scheduling:
- 5x8-hour days (6:45 AM - 3:15 PM).
- Schedule requests should be discussed with the manager.
