Job Summary

Job Title	Sr Software Engineer

Reason for the position	Backfill for a contractor who recently left
Project Description	This person will work on the Shop and Search engineering team this is the product finding feature both the key word search portion of the website and category browse feature.
Role Overview	Senior level engineer involved in multiple projects involved in technical requirements (with oversight from the team lead) etc. This position has the potential to grow into a Lead role in future.
Duties/Day to Day Overview	Candidate will be responsible for Analyzing designing programing debugging and modifying software enhancements and/or new products used in local networked or Internet-related computer programs. They will use current programming language and technologies write code complete programming and perform testing and debugging of applications. They will also complete documentation and procedures for installation and maintenance. Gathers and verifies technical requirements Authors and audits technical design for features Competent in programming and debugging across multiple modules and dealing with related external dependencies Writes high quality code with full test coverage Reviews code to ensure it is functionally correct and is of high quality Provides story or business requirements breakdown planning and estimation reviews and evaluates the teams estimates Accountable for complex stories or business requirements Identifies feature and module dependencies Proposes mitigation plans for identified risks and problems Suggests process improvements and best practices Identifies new areas that could be measured Able to identify evaluate and discuss alternative technologies and techniques Justifies decisions and achieves peer consent Interacts with team members other IT teams business users individual contributors managers Sphere of influence is small group of peers Actively shares knowledge within domain Able to share knowledge outside domain Mentors co-workers within area of expertise improves others productivity Provides guidance for the work performed by contractors Assesses the quality of work and effectiveness of contract resources Participates in development of contractor agreements including deliverables and SLAs
Top Requirements (Must haves)	6 years of experience as a professional software engineer Focus on front-end engineering (no backend support in this role) Strong experience with (v3 or later) HTML SCSS Experience with (limited to backend support). Experience with customer facing application minimally Experience optimizing for cross-browser / cross-device customer experience (tablet and mobile platforms) is a plus Ecommerce experience is a plus Confident engineer proactive enthusiasm for constant improvement as a Software Engineer An understanding of software development best practices Ability to work independently on complex problems of diverse complexity and scope
Additional Qualifications	Bachelors degree or more in Computer Science or Engineering
