Job Summary

Job Title: Data / BI Architect

Job Location: MI (Hybrid)

Job Type: Contract

Job Description:

Collaborate with business and IT stakeholders to gather requirements and define data solutions
Architect and implement data platforms including data warehouses data lakes and data marts
Design conceptual logical and physical data models
Evaluate and implement BI and data tools aligned with business needs
Develop and manage ETL/ELT pipelines and integrations
Create and maintain enterprise data catalog and metadata management
Enforce data governance policies ensuring quality security and compliance
Enable self-service data discovery for business users
Monitor and optimize BI systems and data pipelines for performance and cost-effectiveness
Provide technical leadership and mentorship on data management and BI best practices

Requirements:

5 years in data architecture engineering and BI strategy
Strong knowledge of data warehouse and data lake concepts dimensional modeling and cloud platforms (AWS Azure GCP Snowflake Databricks Redshift etc.)
Proficiency in relational and non-relational databases (SQL Server Oracle PostgreSQL MongoDB)
Experience with BI tools (Power BI Tableau Business Objects Looker Crystal Reports)
ETL/ELT development with tools such as Azure Data Factory AWS Glue Talend Fivetran dbt
Familiarity with big data technologies (Hadoop Spark Kafka)
Programming skills in SQL Python or R
Knowledge of data governance metadata management and cataloging
Strong communication and leadership skills

Preferred Skills:

Experience with machine learning/analytics engines (TensorFlow PyTorch Scikit-learn)
Modeling tools (MS Visio ER/Studio PowerDesigner)
Prior government or public sector experience
