Job Description

Willakenzie Animal Clinic is seeking a Certified Veterinary Technician to join our busy 6-doctor practice in Eugene Oregon. We currently have 5 CVTs on staff and are looking to add one more! We have recently upgraded to a brand-new state-of-the-art facility to serve the community.

Experienced and New Grads encouraged to apply!

  • Starting Salary: $25 28 per hour depending on experience education certifications and licensure
  • Additional Benefits: Continuing education allowance of $600 per year License reimbursement Scrub allowance Discounted Pet Care
  • Location: 1745 Coburg Rd Eugene OR 97401
  • Schedule: 4 days per week 9 9.5 hours per day rotating Saturday coverage (minimum 1/2 day once per month)

Who you are:

  • Veterinary Technician Certification (CVT) in Oregon required
  • Degree from an AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technology program required
  • Experience as a veterinary technician or assistant in a veterinary clinical setting minimum 2 years required
  • Knowledge of industry tools and equipment
  • Passion for working with animals and their owners
  • Experience with proper animal handling and restraint Fear Free preferred
  • Understand the importance of excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Obtain accurate and thorough medical histories
  • Perform basic exam procedures
  • Skilled in venipuncture and Intravenous (IV) catheter placement (cephalic saphenous and jugular)
  • Able to perform digital radiology (X-ray) including positioning
  • Perform complete dental procedures including digital x-rays scaling polishing charting
  • Confident with general anesthesia and surgical assisting (induction intubation monitoring aseptic technique recovery)
  • Perform medical math accurately calculate draw up and administer drugs
  • Laboratory skills including microscope (ear and fecal cytology); automated in-house machines
  • Excellent client communication/education
  • Ability to perform Technician appointments independently including accurate medical record documentation
