Bring your passion for creating engaging and approachable content to a dynamic and influential team at Esri. The documentation writing team is looking for an experienced creative and hard-working writer to create reference help documentation blog articles videos guides and tutorials about ArcGIS Online.
In this role as a product engineering writer you will work closely with teams across Esri to communicate and demonstrate best practices about web mapping and data visualization. We are looking for individuals who have a strong planning problem-solving and analytical mindset. Those who can translate complex ideas into clear and compelling messages within established deadlines are well-suited for this role.
Responsibilities
- Write reference help documentation in our content management system about ArcGIS Online Esris solution for cloud-based mapping and analysis
- Create and maintain blog articles videos guides and tutorials that provide guidance best practices and applied workflows for ArcGIS Online
- Collaborate with development product marketing product management documentation sales and other teams to provide learning resources about ArcGIS Online
Requirements
- 1 years of professional writing experience related to GIS; ideally a blended background including technical and creative writing
- Portfolio submission: writing samples of your recent work
- Exposure to web-based content management systems to create and publish documents
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to translate complex concepts into clear concise compelling content
- Effective time management and organizational skills; work proactively and volunteer assistance without being asked and under tight turnaround
- Demonstrated ability to thrive in an agile environment with a fluid mix of collaborative and independent work
- Bachelors in GIS Geography English or related field
Recommended Qualifications
- Masters in GIS Geography English or related field
- Experience with ArcGIS technology and applications
- Exposure to metadata styles and best practices data federation and data visualization
