The Senior Communications Officer is assigned to the Media Relations Division (DCMD) within the Department of Communications and Knowledge Management (DOCK). The position will be based at our Headquarters in Manila Philippines.
The incumbent will report to the designated International Staff and will oversee junior team members.
Your Role
As a Senior Communications Officer you will support the production and development of high-quality audience-centric ADB digital content including webpages blogs articles project stories DOCK-led publications as well as news releases op-eds and other media materials.
You will:
Bachelors degree in Communication Arts Journalism or Broadcast Journalism Visual Arts Video Production Multimedia Arts or the equivalent preferably with Masters degree or equivalent Additional certification training and/or education in video production highly desirable; preferably with advanced training
At least 8 years of relevant work experience and at least 4 years of supervisory experience
Strong writing and editing skills.
Expertise in major aspects of multimedia production including story definition planning producing and post-production. Video editing experience and/or experience in operating a video/photo camera is highly desirable
High degree of creativity demonstrated in multimedia production
Social media and digital content/multimedia production experience will be an advantage
Experience with website content management systems infographics software and digital marketing services
Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills; able to handle numerous responsibilities and clients simultaneously
Good knowledge of development and communication issues in the Asia-Pacific context and familiarity with brand positioning for international organizations

This is a fixed-term appointment for an initial fixed period of 3 years. At the end of the initial period this appointment may at the option of ADB be extended once for up to 2 years converted to a regular appointment or ended on its expiration date. This decision will be made in the overall interest of ADB that: (a) it will require Staffs particular blend of skills and experience in the foreseeable future; and (b) Staffs performance is satisfactory and they are suitable for further employment.
