About the Department

Alfred Health Pharmacy is well recognised for high quality and innovative patient- focused services education and training programmes as well as significant research service operates over 4 sites within Alfred Health and continually advocates for postgraduate learning and research interests with supportive partnerships and expert mentors available to foster staff development.

The department also has a leading Digital Health strategy playing a pivotal role in managing the electronic medication management system within our comprehensive electronic medical record (Cerner) with an advanced level of integration linking this to the Pharmacy Dispensing (iPharmacy) and Automated Medication Storage systems (Omnicell). This is complemented by a strongclinical presence and a Centre for Medicine Use and Safety program to achieve a considered safe and financially responsible approach to medication management within Alfred Heath.

About the Team

Our pharmacists are recognised as essential members of all clinical teams actively engaging in a unit and team-based care model involving ward rounds and collaborating closely with the multidisciplinary team to achieve excellent patient care outcomes. There are vast opportunities to engage in Advanced Scopes of Practice. This includes undertaking credentialing programs and leading clinical activities such as Partnered Pharmacist Medicine Charting Therapeutic Drug Monitoring Nicotine Replacement Therapy and Analgesia de-escalation to name a few.

The Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated pharmacist with experience in clinical pharmacy and education to lead the PharmacyLearning and Development Team in afull-time position a team with a reputation for innovation and excellence. We have both a permanent full-time opportunity and a 12 month fixed-term opportunity.

As the Lead Pharmacist - Learning and Development you willlead the development and management of core clinical education activities including the design and implementation of key programs in our department. These programs include our intern undergraduateresidency andadvanced residency programs as well askey clinical pharmacy credentials for extended scope of practice activities and external will also be expected and supported to conduct practice-based research projects in clinical pharmacy and clinical education. Your role will also involve a small clinical load once to twice a week.
