Job Summary
Climbing Wall Assistants help maintain a safe climbing environment for Climbing Center users provide instruction and guidance in climbing techniques and safety enforce all climbing wall policies procedures provide belays as needed check equipment and resolve unsafe conditions facilitate group climbing instruction and competition set climbing routes clean climbing area and equipment. Work is generally in the late afternoon and evening with some route-setting earlier and staff generally work 2-6 hours per week.
Minimum Qualifications
Experience and familiarity with climbing environment and equipment used Skilled in top rope & lead belaying and able to identify mistakes and provided instruction Comfortable enforcing polices and rules of the climbing wall Strong communication interpersonal and customer service skills Availability that allows for consistent weekly working hours and some weekend shifts
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in climbing gym or outdoor climbing environment.
