About the role

Are you an experienced library leader with a passion for innovative community-focused collections In this pivotal role youll guide the strategic development and management of our physical and digital resources across Unley Libraries and Unley Toy Libraries while also leading a dedicated team. You will champion continuous improvement and ensure our collections reflect community needs while aligning with statewide policies. From selection and acquisition to cataloguing maintenance and promotion your expertise will shape the way our libraries serve and inspire.

About you

As the collections subject matter expert your experience will be central to shaping the future of our library services with a strong focus on improving literacy outcomes and delivering high-quality responsive collections. Youll play a key role in managing budgets supplier relationships and performance data and represent Unley Libraries in statewide collections discussions. You will also mentor staff coordinate volunteers and contribute to broader library projects and strategic planning as part of the leadership team.

Were looking for someone with:

  • ALIA-accredited tertiary qualifications in Library and Information Services.
  • Strong knowledge of collection development cataloguing practices and digital resources.
  • Proven experience leading high-performing teams in a public library setting.
  • Excellent leadership communication and project management skills.
  • A passion for community engagement literacy and lifelong learning.
