Our client is seeking a passionate and skilled Obstetrics and Gynaecology Registrar to join our vibrant Womens Health team. This is an exciting opportunity for a committed doctor to broaden their clinical exposure in both obstetrics and gynaecology within a supportive well-supervised training environment.
As an O&G Registrar you will be involved in a broad range of clinical duties from managing antenatal intrapartum and postnatal care to assisting and performing gynaecological procedures and surgeries. Youll work closely with experienced consultants and contribute to the education of junior doctors and medical students.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver high-quality care to patients in obstetric and gynaecological settings.
Perform and assist in deliveries (including caesarean sections) emergency O&G procedures and elective gynaecological surgeries.
Conduct antenatal clinics ward rounds operating theatre sessions and emergency on-call work.
Provide supervision and mentorship to junior medical officers and students.
Collaborate with midwifery nursing anaesthetics paediatrics and allied health teams.
Maintain accurate clinical documentation and ensure proper handover of care.
Participate in quality assurance clinical audits and educational meetings.
Contribute to a safe and supportive environment for patients and staff.
Job requirements
Current registration with the Medical Council of Ireland.
Minimum 2 years of relevant postgraduate medical experience.
Enrolment in or eligibility for a recognised specialist training program in Obstetrics & Gynaecology.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
Excellent communication clinical and problem-solving skills.
Commitment to continuing medical education and evidence-based practice.
Desirable Attributes
Prior experience in rural or tertiary O&G settings.
Involvement in teaching research or quality improvement projects.
Advanced procedural skills or interest in subspecialties (e.g. maternal-fetal medicine gynaecological oncology fertility).
