Job Description
Aoka is a municipal services provider serving jurisdictions across Texas. We support local governments with expert building inspections plan reviews and code consultingpowered by our proprietary software that accelerates inspection turnaround times and helps prevent costly construction delays.
Key Responsibilities:
Administer and enforce municipal state and federal codes related to building construction safety energy efficiency and accessibility.
Supervise and support building inspectors plan examiners permit technicians and other code compliance staff.
Oversee and review the issuance of building permits plan approvals occupancy certificates and inspection reports.
Interpret complex code provisions and provide guidance to architects engineers contractors property owners and the general public.
Collaborate with fire planning zoning engineering and public works departments to ensure coordinated code enforcement.
Conduct field inspections and site visits for complex projects or escalated issues.
Manage appeal processes code updates and ordinance revisions.
Represent the jurisdiction or company in meetings hearings and public forums related to building safety and construction.
Maintain accurate records and prepare reports on permitting inspection activity and code enforcement.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required; Bachelors degree in Construction Management Engineering Architecture or a related field preferred.
ICC certification as a Certified Building Official (CBO) is required.
Additional ICC certifications (e.g. Plans Examiner Building Inspector) highly desirable.
Minimum 57 years of progressively responsible experience in building inspection code enforcement or construction management.
Proven leadership and supervisory experience.
- Ability to analyze and solve complex code-related issues under pressure.
Compensation & Benefits:
$90000 - $120000 yearly salary
