The team

The Deloitte South Asia strategic growth team serves as a central pillar driving growth and transformation within DSA spanning several business lines and various technology functions. We are established as a centralized team collaborating across consulting implementation and operation to maintain and enhance client value offerings and services. We innovate conventional approaches leveraging Deloitte technology differentiated domain expertise intellectual property talent and capacity to embed continuous advantage and deliver enhanced business value.

In this team our focus is on catering to the unique needs and preferences of clients in the South Asia region. Your role within this dynamic team is essential for establishing networks and relationships across the client stakeholder ecosystem and ensuring service fulfillment. Additionally you will collaborate closely with other Deloitte leadership and stakeholders dedicated to the client. Your contributions will involve nurturing new and existing relationships supporting presales life cycles and playing a pivotal role in driving the success of DSA business growth for the specific client.

Position: Principal Accountant for Account Reconciliation (typical Finance Controllership role but localised in Reconciliation area)

Process overview:

The Account Reconciliation team is responsible for the performing the Reconciliations for the Halliburton Group. Account Reconciliations are a fundamental financial control used to substantiate the assertion of fair presentation of our financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP. Account Reconciliation team analyse transactions validate supporting documents and identify the exposures with clear action plan and expected clearing date.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform QC/ Review & Approve Account Reconciliations prepared by Accountants by validating the supporting documents JE and applying accounting principles and finance acumen.
  • Ensure reconciliation is performed based on Chart of Accounts Account guide Business practices and Companys policies and procedures
  • Possess excellent understanding on accounting concepts specifically in Revenue Recognition Deferred Revenue Cost Accrual Liabilities Other assets etc.
  • Support internal audits and identify opportunities in standardizing the Reconciliation Process.
  • As part of QC coach Accounts Rec SMEs on deficiency and aid their learning curve
  • Preparation of Account Reconciliations for an entity or category or multiple categories of accounts.
  • Analyse the transactions; review the supporting documentation available in SAP /follow up with locations in case of missing or partial supporting documentation.
  • Identify exposures and report in Blackline; load all relevant documentation as required to support the Reconciliation.

Leadership skills:

  • Lead and manage teams of Account Reconciliation SMEs
  • Stake holder management country F&A Finance Controllers Senior Leadership etc. Point of Contact (PoC) for Regions like APAC MENA EESSA NAM LATAM
  • Run monthly governance meetings for the region
  • Engage GBS Leadership GPO for any deviations from account guide; seek for guidance on exemption/exception requirements.

Other Responsibilities Include:

  • Period review of DTP and ensuring changes updates for the responsible areas are captured on real time basis. Present and obtain approvals
  • Perform MEC activities including QC

Basic Qualifications/Experience:

  • CA/ CPA with 4 years of experience
  • CA-inter with 6 years of experience
  • B. Com/ with a minimum of 9 years Experience

Desired/Preferred Expertise:

  • Good Accounting knowledge US GAAP Knowledge is an added advantage.
  • Experience in preparation of Account Reconciliatons.
  • Hands on experience in accounting tools proficient in MS Office tools (i.e. excel word etc.)
  • Knowledge of SAP and Accounting tools i.e. Blackline is an added advantage.
  • Good Verbal and Written communication skills.

Any 9 working hours in a day depending on the business needs and the regions supported
