As the Accounting Manager you will report to the Assistant Controller and will be responsible for various aspects of financial accounting reporting and compliance to ensure accuracy efficiency and adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and regulatory standards. This role also requires a strong understanding of financial systems particularly Sage Intacct Salesforce and Kantata as well as excellent organizational and communication skills. The Accounting Manager will partner with a team of accounting professionals and collaborate closely with cross-functional departments to ensure accurate and timely reporting of CrossCountrys financial results. This position is based out of our DC office and the person is expected to be in the office two days per week.
Responsibilities:
Month-end and Year-end Close:
Manage the month-end and year-end close processes including journal entries account reconciliations transfer pricing and financial analysis to provide timely and accurate financial information.
Coordinate performance of monthly closing activities with a third-party service provider based in India which requires morning availability starting at 8:00 am ET or earlier when needed.
Assist with the preparation of tax and audit schedules for third-party tax advisors and auditors.
Assist with cash management activities.
Implement best practices and process improvements to optimize the monthly close cycle.
Financial Reporting:
Work closely with the FP&A team and department heads to analyze budget-to-actual variances and identify opportunities for cost optimization.
Prepare and review financial statements including balance sheets income statements and cash flow statements ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and regulatory requirements.
Prepare regular analysis and reporting for management review highlighting variances financial trends and other key metrics.
Systems Expertise:
Knowledge of Sage Intacct Concur (T&E platform) Kantata (PSA) and Salesforce (CRM) systems to access financial information related to monthly close activities a plus.
Optimize system use to ensure accurate data entry integration and reporting.
Identify opportunities for process automation and enhancement including implementation of new technologies where appropriate.
Team Leadership:
Foster a positive and collaborative work environment that encourages professional growth and excellence.
Qualifications:
6 years of hands-on accounting experience in a corporate environment. Prior experience in professional services (public accounting management consulting or advisory firm) is strongly preferred.
Bachelors degree (or higher) in Accounting.
CPA strongly preferred.
Advanced proficiency in Accounting ERP (Sage Intacct) and Intermediate proficiency in resource management applications (Kantata) and CRM systems (Salesforce) with the ability to configure troubleshoot and optimize these systems.
Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Windows Word PowerPoint and Outlook with advanced proficiency in Excel.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail with the ability to identify trends discrepancies and anomalies.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills capable of collaborating with cross-functional teams and addressing client inquiries.
Problem-solving mindset with the ability to proactively identify process inefficiencies and implement effective solutions.
Exceptional organizational and time management skills able to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
