Description
The contract Accounting Associate is responsible for managing fixed asset accounting preparing journal entries and account reconciliations and performing daily cash reconciliations. This role also supports capital investment tracking financial reporting and cross-functional collaboration with various departments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform daily and monthly bank reconciliations; investigate discrepancies and coordinate with internal teams and banking institutions.
- Manage capital project accounting including setup closure and reporting to senior leadership.
- Run monthly depreciation schedules and calculate capitalized interest.
- Prepare and post journal entries for payroll fixed assets banking and tax transactions.
- Complete monthly account reconciliations and assist in audit tax and regulatory reporting.
- Respond to customer insurance requests in coordination with third-party providers.
- Support cash flow analysis and various management reports.
- Participate in special projects and ad hoc assignments as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Accounting required; professional designation (e.g. CPA CMA) preferred.
- 3 years of accounting experience.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and general accounting principles.
- Proficiency in Excel including financial modeling and analytical techniques.
- Experience with ERP systems and fixed asset management preferred.
- Strong communication problem-solving and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in a manufacturing or warehouse setting is a plus.
