About the workplace

As a Team Manager Wealth Solutions you will coach and support your direct reports to deliver on quality financial advice and investment solutions to meet members needs including socially responsible investing options. You will also support the Regional Manager to execute and deliver on strategic initiatives laid out by Sustainable Wealth Management and Vancity.

This is a Full Time Permanent role that reports directly to the Regional Manager Wealth Solutions. This role will be covering branches in the Surrey Langley Delta and New Westminster region.

This competitively rewarded role will enjoy hybrid working arrangements which can be fulfilled primarily from your Lower Mainland based home office and your assigned branches. Periodically in-person events or activities will be required of you.

A typical day would involve:

  • Supporting and executing sales strategies and tools to enable delivery of quality investment and financial advice that meet members needs incorporating sustainable solutions to balance business opportunities and compliance to drive Sustainable Wealth Management (SWM) business growth
  • Continuously build business and financial planning acumen of member facing staff in SWM in order to facilitate and/or deliver a great member experience and grow and maintain a membership base that is loyal deep and committed to Vancity
  • Delivering results: targeted sales net earnings and referral objectives for the wealth solutions business line
  • Monitoring and managing the service delivery and problem resolution of the staff according to established service standards and expectations for great service experience of members financial planning needs
  • Assisting the Regional Manager in the development and execution of plans to achieve financial objectives for Sustainable Wealth Management
  • Building a team of increasingly capable direct reports including moving talent where we need them when we need them and exercising agile leadership
  • Providing guidance and support to direct reports for complaint and issue resolution and direct handling of escalations
  • Travelling between branches to meet and coach planners

      You Are:

      • ACollaborator with great communication skills -you are able to build strong relationships and partnerships with stakeholders team members members vendors and peers. Lead discussions listen and ask the right questions to ensure requirements are met. Express and communicate with others verbally at an advanced level; recognizing that verbal communication is more than just language - it includes tone style and structure. Through these skillsyoull develop maintain and strengthen partnerships with others inside or outside the organization.
      • ANatural Leader- you have people leadership skills to manage a team of direct reports and support the technical/transactional activities and carry out all people practices. Has the ability to be adaptable to manage and lead yourself and your team through change.
      • ADecisive Problem Solver- you have confidence in the knowledge and experience you possess. You use these to influence yourdecision making to diagnose challenges and issues develop innovative business solutions and assess risks and opportunities that may affect the unit and or designated unit.

      You Have:

      • A Personal Financial Planner or Certified Financial Planner designation
      • Post secondary degree in business administration
      • 3-5 years of financial industry experience in any one of the following: investment banking financial advisory life insurance wealth management retail lending retail banking

      Bonus Points:

      • Experience in Management of an IROC or MFDA platform is asset
      • Former People Leadership experience
      • Furthered training in Coaching and Training

      Salary Range: The salary range for the role is $81200 to $122000. The upper half of the salary range is typically reserved for individuals who have demonstrated consistent strong performance in the role and possess a high level of job knowledge and skill.
