Learning System Specialist

Location Division Office

FTE 1.0

Start Date September 8 2025

The Learning System Specialist provides operational and systems management for FMPSD. Working under the guidance and support of the Director of Teaching and Learning must be able to adjust to unique situations quickly problem-solve on the spot and work flexibly and collaboratively to maintain effective systems and tools that enhance teaching and learning across the division.

Requirements:

  • Experience with form management systems.
  • Strong organizational and technical skills with attention to detail.
  • Effective problem-solving communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated experience with user account management and digital system administration.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Desired Qualifications/Skills:
  • Familiarity with Ed Tech platforms used across the division including PowerSchool Google for Education Apps Clevr Vretta etc.
  • Knowledge of accessibility tools such as Read & Write EquatIO or other inclusive programming technologies.
  • Experience maintaining digital repositories and/or physical resource libraries.
  • Familiarity with Alberta K-12 education contexts and technology use in schools.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
  • In collaboration with the Coordinator of Educational Technology manage the divisions LMS (Learning Management Systems) platforms including Clevr PowerSchool Vretta etc.
  • In collaboration with Division Coordinators manage platforms associated with literacy and numeracy.
  • Maintain accessibility tools (e.g. ipads Chromebooks etc.) and digital resources that support inclusive programming.
  • Maintain accessibility of Coordinators Corner.
  • Maintain the Divisions Computer Science resources.
  • Support divisional reporting requirements.
  • Provide organizational support for division professional development.
  • Other duties as assigned.
