Family Support Worker 1.0 FTE
Summary:
The Family Support Worker provides outreach intervention services to families who are experiencing difficulties with parenting and who are potentially at risk of family breakdown.
Qualifications:
A Bachelors of Social Work and two (2) years related experience or a related diploma and five (5) years related experience.
Knowledge and understanding of Sttimc culture and ability to work with Aboriginal people.
Duties & Responsibilities
strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
strong conflict resolution skills.
knowledge of community resources available to clients and their families and how to access them.
The ability to use tact and good judgment in dealing with sensitive and complex issues.
Proven crisis intervention skills.
Work individually and with a team
Responsible for records file maintenance and reporting.
Must be willing to submit to and clear a Vulnerable Sector Criminal Record Check
Must have a valid drivers license and reliable transportation
