The Role
The ABC is looking for an Associate Producer with advanced production skills to join our News team for a 12-month role is located at the ABCs brand-new broadcast studios and newsroom in Parramatta Square and will include:
- Line up and output the flagship 7pm NSW news bulletin.
- Writing and producing video stories and explainers using creative storytelling techniques.
- Working with journalists as a story producer to develop and sub edit content for all platforms.
- Supporting the Supervising Producer and newsroom leadership team to produce stories for State and Network News that provide context depth and understanding for audiences.
Position Description: BACKFILL ASSOCIATE PRODUCER
About You
You have proven experience as a TV/video producer in a busy newsroom environment and bring considerable experience writing for broadcast outlets. Your skills and experience will also include:
- Advanced knowledge of television news production including bulletin line-up and on-air production needs.
- A high level of skill with relevant software production systems and reporting tools.
- Sophisticated teamwork communication interpersonal and time management skills to operate effectively in a busy newsroom environment.
- Experience guiding others in a fast-paced newsroom with continuous deadlines.
- Considerable independent editorial judgment.
