SUMMARY: The Regional Wastewater Manager is responsible for the operations and maintenance of the wastewater treatment facilities in the assigned region. Ensure that all documentation is in place and kept up to date per Georges policy and local state and federal agencies.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to the following:
- Direct the operating characteristics and maintenance requirements of the regional wastewater treatment plants on around the clock basis.
- Oversee the standard laboratory tests and procedures used the wastewater treatment plants.
- Oversee the hydraulics chemical and mechanical principles pertinent to the wastewater treatment plant operations.
- Train personnel in best practices for keeping water in compliance with city and state requirements.
- Keep accurate records and ensure all documentation is kept up to date and accurate.
- Manage the water samples as required by laws and regulations.
- Make sure all safety rules and requirements are followed.
- Thorough knowledge of applicable Federal State and local laws ordinances and permitting requirements of each wastewater treatment facility.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position will have supervisory responsibility.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Required
- Bachelors degree AND 7 years of extensive experience in all facets of wastewater management.
- Must possess a minimum Class III Wastewater License or could obtain an appropriate state certified license within 12 months of employment.
- Good communication skills both verbal and written.
- Strong knowledge of applicable compliance requirements and state and federal (EPA) regulations.
