Job Summary
Russell Landscape is looking for a Lead Mechanic to keep our trucks and equipment running and lead our shop team. This role will handle everything from scheduling maintenance to turning a wrench when needed.
Relevant Experience:
- Diagnostics & Troubleshooting
- Inspect diagnose and repair 2-stroke and 4-stroke engines.
- Use diagnostic tools and manuals to identify mechanical and electrical issues.
- Repairs & Maintenance
- Perform routine maintenance: oil changes filter replacements tune-ups carburetor cleaning spark plug replacement.
- Repair and rebuild small engines for lawn mowers chainsaws trimmers pressure washers generators ATVs and other power equipment.
- Adjust and replace belts clutches fuel systems and ignition systems.
- Equipment & Tools
- Skilled in using hand tools power tools torque wrenches grinders and specialty diagnostic equipment.
- Knowledge of hydraulic pneumatic and electrical systems related to small engines.
- Parts & Inventory
- Source and replace parts efficiently.
- Maintain inventory of shop supplies and order parts as needed.
What Youll Do:
- Manage daily shop operations and oversee 12 mechanics.
- Keep up with maintenance and repairs on 80 trucks (Isuzu and others) and 350 pieces of equipment (mowers skid steers trailers small engines).
- Diagnose and repair issues on trucks and landscape equipment.
- Schedule preventive maintenance to reduce downtime.
- Track service records parts and shop inventory.
- Work with operations to prioritize repairs and support crews in the field.
- Make sure all work is done safely and efficiently.
What Were Looking For:
- Strong hands-on experience with small engines mowers skid steers trailers and trucks (Isuzu experience is a plus).
- Previous experience running or helping manage a shop.
- Ability to lead a small team and keep workflow organized.
- Good problem-solving skills and ability to prioritize.
- Dependable safety-focused and organized.
