The Help Desk Support Technician provides technical support to staff across the museum ensuring smooth daily operations of hardware software and office equipment. This part-time role is responsible for monitoring and responding to Technology Help Desk requests troubleshooting issues and assisting with workstation setup and maintenance. Youll play a key role in keeping SAMs technology running efficiently by:
Assisting staff with Windows Mac and productivity software.
Monitoring the Technology Help Desk service queue prioritizing and escalating requests as needed.
Documenting closing and archiving service requests and preparing periodic Help Desk reports.
Installing configuring and maintaining computers peripherals and official productivity software.
Troubleshooting PC and Mac hardware and networking issues.
Ensuring printers and other office equipment are in good working order coordinating repairs as needed.
Organizing obsolete hardware and coordinating disposal.
Supporting account management for Active Directory Tessitura Microsoft 365 and other SaaS platforms.
Participating in SAMs institutional learning efforts including equity diversity inclusion accessibility and belonging (EDIAB).
FLSA STATUS: Part Time Non-Exempt
REPORTS TO: Director of Technology
COMPENSATION: $31.44/hour
This role is scheduled for 20 hours per week during standard business hours (MondayFriday). Occasional holiday or peak season work may be required to support museum operations.

Required Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
24 years experience installing configuring and troubleshooting Microsoft Windows PC hardware Mac and peripherals.
24 years experience with TCP/IP networking and wireless access protocols.
Demonstrated customer service skills.
Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Strong time management problem solving and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently with discretion and confidentiality.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Asana Slack and internet-based research.
Ability to pass and maintain a security background check.
Preferred Qualifications
Progress toward an AA or BS in Computer Science MIS or related field.
Experience in a museum nonprofit or corporate environment.
Exposure: Primarily indoors in a climate-controlled environment including server rooms and front-of-house/back-of-house spaces.
Stationary Work: About 75% at a desk; 25% moving around work areas. May require extended standing during events.
Communication: Clear and professional verbal and written communication in English is required.
Office Work: Regular use of computers phones and office equipment.
Lifting/Carrying: Ability to transport up to 25 pounds of equipment and supplies.
