Job Summary
Welding:Performing TIG (GTAW) welding on copper-nickel pipes and potentially other materials like stainless steel and carbon steel. Interpretation:Reading and understanding blueprints isometric drawings and welding symbols to ensure proper weld placement and quality. Preparation:Preparing pipe and fittings for welding including cutting beveling and cleaning. Inspection:Conducting visual and dimensional inspections of welds to ensure they meet quality standards and project specifications. Testing:Passing welding tests often involving X-ray inspection in various positions including the 6G position (restricted) on different pipe sizes and materials. Safety:Adhering to strict safety protocols and wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). Equipment Operation:Operating welding equipment including TIG welders cutting torches and grinders. Problem Solving:Addressing any issues that arise during the welding process such as weld defects or fit-up problems. Teamwork:Working effectively as part of a team potentially alongside pipefitters and other tradespeople.
