The Director of Operations is a hands on leader responsible for leading day-to-day execution and plant performance across all four Company facilities. This role ensures every part moves through our system efficiently safely and with the lowest possible cost while meeting short-term budget targets and annual strategic goals.
This is a present performance-driven role. Not theoretical. Not future-focused. Its about execution this year accountability every day and improvement that sticks.
the candidate should be comfortable traveling to Mexico speaks Spanish and has experience working there given the growing Mexico operation.
Core Responsibilities
Operational Execution
* Lead all operational functions across four facilities to achieve throughput quality and cost objectives.
* Ensure seamless flow of parts from entry to exit - fast efficient and lean.
* Set the standard for operational excellence and clearly communicate expectations to plant managers.
* Be present on the floor with your team solving problems and driving momentum daily.
* Identify bottlenecks and lead continuous improvement across all sites.
Strategic Alignment & KPI Performance
* Translate the companys annual strategic goals into short-term plant-level execution plans.
* Present a monthly performance report to the President with:
o Key operational KPIs
o Trend analysis
o Root causes and corrective actions
* Drive alignment between operations and strategic business goals (sales growth margin delivery).
Risk Safety & Maintenance Management
* Own risk management across all facilities including safety fire prevention capacity and compliance (OSHA EPA etc.).
* Implement a proactive equipment care culture - no band-aid fixes no neglected machinery.
* Lead a structured preventive maintenance program to maximize uptime and extend equipment life.
* Ensure 5S standards clean workspaces and plant conditions that reflect pride and professionalism.
Systems Leadership & Discipline
* Execute the Company Audit System to drive operational accountability and identify improvement areas.
* Standardize and enforce use of operational tools - daily tier boards KPI dashboards maintenance logs etc. (Mexico has a ton of tools that we should be utilizing)
* Audit validate and follow up on system usage regularly to ensure lasting adoption.
Continuous Improvement & Kaizen
* Run at least 6 Kaizen events per year to drive measurable gains in safety cost delivery or quality.
* Implement Lean methodologies where appropriate to reduce waste and improve flow.
Resource & Capacity Planning
* Manage labor allocation machine utilization and materials to meet production needs and scale smartly.
* Adjust plant resources based on demand fluctuations and customer needs.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
* Work with Sales Engineering Finance HR and Quality to align execution with customer and business goals.
* Support implementation of cost savings program and spending oversight.
Execution Expectations
