Under general supervision provides mass and individual communications to healthcare partners manages inventory leads/attends meetings coordinates/delivers trainings for healthcare partners writes plans conducts exercises manages program budget and purchase documentation and evaluates program for compliance with state and/or federal guidelines. This position is based in Lowndes County requires regular travel within a 9-county region and occasional in-state overnight travel.


Serve as the Healthcare Coalition Facilitator of the Region L Healthcare Coalition. This includes communication planning documentation and reporting with Healthcare Coalition members and state partners. Host and attend meetings trainings and other events (requires travel and public speaking). Develop and maintain Healthcare Coalition plans in compliance with state/federal guidelines. Maintain and develop relationships with existing and new healthcare partners/organizations within South Health District. Distribute information and updates to partners on a regular basis. Maintain Healthcare Coalition resource inventory. Assist and participate with local regional and state exercise planning and drills by engaging the healthcare community and other community partners. Conduct/lead regional preparedness exercises and drills. Share on-call responsibilities with the District Emergency Preparedness Staff. Assist with medical volunteer coordination if needed. Write budget proposals make purchase requests and provide related documentation. Maintain Region L Healthcare Coalition partner email and mass notification databases website and associated information/documentation on other online platforms.


This position will require participation in organizational emergency preparedness related trainings and exercises and participation as assigned in emergency response activities where South Health District has a role.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelors degree in a related field from an accredited college or university and two (2) years of experience performing work related to area of assignment; or six (6) years of experience performing work related to area of assignment; or Masters degree in a related field from an accredited college or university. Note: Some positions may require licensure.

Preferred Qualifications:

-Experience in emergency management public health emergency preparedness or healthcare preparedness

-Budget management experience

-Experience in public speaking and instructing teaching and/or training adults

-Experience in writing emergency plans and developing/conducting emergency drills and exercises

DPH accepts educational credential recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and/or the US Department of Education (DOE) will be considered. DPH will contact educational institutions to verify degree diploma licensure etc.
