What You Will Do:

As a Senior Design Engineer you will lead product development and certification activities for high-aesthetic customer-facing interior products. Youll work closely with Program Management customers internal teams and suppliers to ensure timely high-quality design solutions that meet specifications certification requirements and customer expectations.

  • Providing bespoke product designs that are reliable high-quality and production ready.
  • Leading design and certification activities for passenger cabin components.
  • Creating 2D and 3D CAD designs (SolidWorks) managing Bills of Materials (BOMs) and PDM systems.
  • Preparing test solutions and supporting qualification testing documentation.
  • Designing across multiple disciplines (moulding sheet metal machining cables PCB assemblies etc.).
  • Supporting 3D printing prototyping and hands-on build activities.
  • Applying knowledge of manufacturing and finishing techniques to optimise designs.
  • Revising drawings and documentation based on peer customer and certification authority feedback.
  • Providing progress updates highlighting risks and escalating issues as needed.
  • Reviewing internal and external documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Attending internal/external meetings and occasional offsite travel as required.

What You Must Have:

To succeed in this role youll bring both technical expertise and a proactive solution-focused mindset.

  • Degree HNC or HND in a suitable engineering subject.
  • Demonstrated design experience in a regulated engineering environment (aerospace automotive marine or similar).
  • High-level proficiency in SolidWorks (or similar CAD software).
  • Strong understanding of an engineering office environment.
  • Ability to work independently with limited information taking ownership to progress design and certification activities.
  • Track record of delivering high-quality designs under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills with confidence to engage across all levels of the business.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Excel Word PowerPoint).

Experience We Value:

  • Basic electronics understanding.
  • An understanding of aircraft manufacturers qualification standards and related standards e.g. D6-36440 RTCA/DO-160 ABD0100.1.2 etc. Or experience within a Part-21J organisation.
