Position Summary
The Campus Store and Post Office Operations Staff position supports all functions of the Campus Store and Post Office under the direction of the Campus Store and Post Office Manager by promoting a culture of consistency competency and service within the CSPO team. This includes assisting in the cultivation of a hospitable store environment through effective merchandising inventory management and quality service. The role helps foster a reliable and organized mail and package service for the Asbury Seminary community.
Essential Functions
- Merchandising Support
- Arranges organizes and presents merchandise in visually appealing ways.
- Greets and assists customers with any shopping needs and staffs the front counter in a professional and compassionate manner.
- Maintains accurate descriptions and photos of products on the Asbury Theological Seminary Campus Store website.
- Assists the Campus Store and Post Office Manager with special projects and website functionality.
- Inventory Management
- Manages and adjusts the store inventory by providing accurate counts of products and supplies between the Campus Store and Satellite Store.
- Receives counts sorts barcodes and labels all new and reordered merchandise.
- Adds new merchandise to Shopify.
- Places drink orders and at times interfaces with delivery drivers.
- Ensures that snacks drinks and merchandise are regularly restocked.
- Mailroom Support
- Fulfills online orders.
- Facilitates the receipt and delivery of student staff and faculty mail and packages.
- Maintains an accurate list of all current students staff and faculty.
- Maintains an accurate report on Seminary Business Reply Postage.
- Assists with various mailroom operations as needed.
Qualifications
Required/Preferred Skills
- Ability to walk and be on feet for up to five hours at a time.
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
- Exhibits an eye for detail demonstrating the ability to meticulously and accurately count and organize merchandise.
- Punctual and capable of working independently without direct supervision.
- Able to work cooperatively in a team setting.
- Professional in appearance speech and action.
- Possess a servants heart with a willingness to prioritize customers needs.
Education and Experience
- Previous retail or service industry experience preferred.
- Previous social media website management or graphic design experience preferred.
