LOCATION: UK Hybrid. Onsite working in Birmingham is required during network commissioning and test.
PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: Up to 85000 depending on relevant skills knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
This role will lead the development and delivery of a BBC Future Network that will converge enterprise office media and control networks onto a multi-tenanted Arista fabric in the BBCs new home in Birmingham The Tea Factory. Working closely with the project team Architects Solution and Product Managers you will document design configure test and handover the network into support. Initially a role for 18 months the right candidate may have the role extended to work on other flagship BBC projects.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT:
The key responsibility of the role is to design deliver configure test and handover a BBC large site multi-tenanted network into the BBCs new home in Birmingham The Tea Factory. The impact will be a large site template for the BBC to deploy at BBC sites in the UK and across the world.
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
- Experience of translating network requirements from a variety of network owners into documentation and design collateral.
- Experience in the design delivery and support of fabric networks using open standards including EVPN and VXLAN.
- Knowledge of design and engineering techniques around integration of firewalls into fabric networks.
- Knowledge of current systems engineering best practices around the monitoring performance testing and security considerations of complex multi-tenanted networks.
- Proven experience of using open automation toolsets (Ansible NetBox and vendor frameworks) to deploy network infrastructure at scale.
- Experience working with Git and DevOps practices.
DESIRED BUT NOT REQUIRED:
- Knowledge of handling PTP and IP multicast on a medium sized network.
- Current knowledge of Aristas AVD framework and experience with Arista CloudVision.
- Experience with the creation of automated network test code using Python or Aristas ANTA framework.
- Exposure to Fortinet firewall platforms and their use for securing inter-tenant traffic on a multi-tenanted network.
- Awareness of Wi-Fi design best practices.
- Exposure to broadcast / media application layer protocols including AES67 RTP SRT and ST2202-7.
- Knowledge or experience of working with media/technology tools (hardware and software).
