Were seeking a detail-oriented reliable Payroll Specialist to join our team part-time. Reporting to the VP of People Experience and Talent this role will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll maintaining compliance with federal state and local regulations and supporting employees with payroll-related inquiries. Youll also collaborate with HR and Finance to support process improvements and maintain high standards of accuracy and confidentiality.
Key Responsibilities
Process bi-weekly payroll accurately and on time ensuring compliance with federal state and local regulations
Maintain payroll records and manage wage garnishments child support orders and tax levies in accordance with legal requirements
Handle state tax registration and ensure proper setup and compliance across applicable jurisdictions
Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll deductions and timekeeping with accuracy and professionalism
Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to ensure accurate payroll reporting reconciliation and cross-functional support
Assist with year-end reporting including preparation of W-2s tax filings and other required documentation
Support internal and external audits by providing timely and accurate payroll documentation
Required to perform other duties as requested directed or assigned
Requirements and Qualifications
Associates or Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance Human Resources or a related field preferred
3 years of payroll processing experience ideally in a multi-state environment
Strong knowledge of payroll practices wage and hour laws and tax regulations
Experience with payroll software (ADP Paylocity Workday or similar)
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
High level of accuracy attention to detail and confidentiality
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently manage priorities and meet deadlines
