Job Description
JOB SUMMARY:
Under direct supervision this position provides support for the application selection admission and registration of students in a Division of IRSC. Responsibilities include Answering the telephone and transmitting messages professionally; greeting students parents faculty staff and the public; assisting walk-in participants; and overseeing after-school tutorials.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Initiate schedule and coordinate all Program appointments and meetings.
- Attend staff meetings with the Director target school personnel and program staff to plan and evaluate project operations.
- Make travel arrangements and event accommodations.
- Compose correspondence;
- Take minutes for various program and committee meetings.
- Plan and coordinate field trips and cultural programs.
- Transmit routine directives from the Program Director to personnel.
- Coordinate food and other purchases for activities and events.
- Provide bookkeeping and recordkeeping techniques.
- Open and distributing mail.
- Collect data using technology-based tools to report program metrics.
- Manage overall office effectiveness
- Coordinate student transportation facilities and equipment needs.
- Complete other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
- Associate in Science degree in Accounting Technology Business Administration Education Human Services or related area.
- Minimum of two (2) years of classroom setting. Relevant office management preferred.
- Excellent telephone etiquette.
- Ability and willingness to learn policies and procedures related to relevant program objectives including Education Department General Administrative Regulations (EDGAR) for compliance and administrative tasks.
- Proficiency in technology including Microsoft windows Excel Access and database applications.
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Strong attention to detail sound judgment and the ability to multi-task.
- People- oriented self-motivated and able to work independently and collaboratively.
- Willingness to learn and maintain budget accuracy.
- Familiarity with Educational programs (e.g. Talent Search Programs Title 34 Code of Federal Registry Part 643)
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekend and evenings.
- Strong leadership interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Working knowledge of local area (e.g. St. Lucie County Martin County).
- Ability to empathize and work with individuals from culturally diverse backgrounds.
- Valid Florida drivers license.
- Experience working with disadvantaged and underrepresented students parents and adult populations.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
This position classifies the physical exertion requirements as light work involving lifting no more than 25 pounds at a time with frequent lifting or carrying of objects weighing up to 10 pounds. Even though the weight lifted may be very little a job is in this category when it requires a good deal of walking or standing.
