Raytheon Mechanical Engineering leads in hardware design development and production of radar sonar torpedo and combat system equipment. The ME Team uses state-of the-art tools processes technology and RMDs Six Sigma principles. MPTs capabilities encompass a broad range of technical disciplines which include engineering manufacturing technical services materials processes analysis test and documentation.

The Air Defense Ground Equipment (ADGE) Department leads mechanical design development and integration of platform systems. This includes shelter systems hardware integration cable & interconnections as well as facility development and site integration. The department is comprised of individuals with technical expertise and experience in hardware design integration and production support.

The ADGE Department is looking for a full-time on-site Mechanical Engineer II located in Tewksbury MA to join the MCAD (Mechanical Computer-Aided Design) team. This is an On-Site Role.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

Perform mechanical design development and documentation of components sub-assemblies and major end items for defense system equipment in accordance with system requirements.

Interface with other engineering disciplines non-technical disciplines and suppliers to develop design solutions and resolve technical challenges.

Factory and supplier support of product integration domestically and internationally

Support development evaluation and analysis of mechanical designs.

Drawing generation drawing release and drawing change incorporation

Resolution of change requests from manufacturing or suppliers

Holding design reviews and resolving action items

Development of rework and/or modification procedures

Support the production floor on a regular basis collecting issues providing status and participate in problem resolution.

Utilize CREO CAD tool for modeling and documentation creation.

Qualifications You Must Have:

Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field

4 years engineering design experience with a focus on hardware development

Experience with Computer Aided Design (CAD) tools or CREO

Experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)

Self-motivated detail oriented and results oriented.

The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Value:

Demonstrated hands-on mechanical aptitude with the ability to work across disciplines and to be able to work in a team environment.

Experience in technical risk management

Experience in Sheet Metal and CREO Cabling.

Experience in PDM

Experience in multiple CAD Design Tools Solidworks/CATIA/AutoCAD

Experience in working on EACs/BOEs/Proposals

Solid understanding of configuration management practices

Ability to resolve technical issues resulting from manufacturing/supplier inquiries.

Proven ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Experience in technical risk management Earned Value Management (EVM) reporting of task metrics/analysis and developing cost proposal estimates.

Understanding of the product development lifecycle models and program lifecycle modes

Clearance Information: This position requires the eligibility to obtain a security clearance. Non-US citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance. The Defense Industrial Security Clearance Office (DISCO) an agency of the Department of Defense handles and adjudicates the security clearance process. More information about Security Clearances is on the US Department of State government website here: salary range for this role is 66000 USD - 130000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer including but not limited to the role function and associated responsibilities a candidates work experience location education/training and key skills.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
