About Team: We are Automation AI and Data (AAD) team that caters to data engineering and analytics automation and AI solutions for various groups and divisions within Thermofisher Scientific.

What will you do

The Automation Staff Engineer will handle automation issues striving for improvement in collaboration with the Automation team and involved parties.

General Job Functions

  • Act as the main liaison for the automation Operations team
  • Daily oversight of Automation incidents and ensuring their resolution according to Ticket Priorities
  • Assign and follow up on incidents ensuring timely and effective resolution.
  • Collaborate hands-on with the incident team to address and resolve issues.
  • Ensure that all incidents are detailed tracked and resolved in accordance with established procedures.
  • SLA-compliant incident handling with root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Monitoring and testing for automation and platform upgrades.
  • Communication with business users to keep them informed on status risks and resolution plans.

Must have skills and experience

  • 12 Years of Experience with automation tools and technologies such as UiPath (including Agentic) Power Automate Python
  • 6 Years AI/ML models and cloud platforms (AWS Azure Databricks).
  • Hands-on experience using Ticket tracking tools SNOW and JIRA
  • Proficiency in coding testing and debugging skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Excellent written verbal interpersonal and partner communication skills.
  • Excellent Analysis and business requirement documentation skills.
  • Ability to work with multi-functional teams from multiple regions/ time zones by effectively demonstrating multi-form communication (Email MS Teams for voice and chat meetings)
  • Excellent prioritization and problem-solving skills.
  • Broad expertise in supervising automation incidents and securing high-caliber resolutions.
  • Strong knowledge of Python Power Automate and APIs for AI and automation integration.

Good to have skills

Communication and Leadership:

  • Ability to communicate effectively to a variety of audiences both internal and external.
  • Proven track record of achieving outcomes through standard project management methods and subject areas.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor and guide team members.
  • Relevant certifications in data engineering on cloud platforms.
  • Basic understanding of machine learning and Generative AI concepts.
