Position Overview
Under the general supervision of the Supervisor Laundry or designate and while demonstrating a commitment to the Mission Values and Management Philosophy of St. Boniface Hospital the Laundry Porter/Cart MakeUp is responsible for: the physical movement of clean and soiled laundry carts from all areas of the hospital complex and affiliated buildings; preparation of linen carts and orders; and performing other related duties as assigned.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
- Grade 10.
Qualifications and Skills
- Ability to read write speak and understand English.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to walk stand bend lift twist and reach constantly throughout the entire shift.
- Ability to lift/move items weighing approximately 50 lbs./23 kgs.
- Ability to push carts weighing up to approximately 500 lbs./230 kgs.
