Job Description
Under general direction of the Drainage Supervisor the Crew Leader A provides supervision and direction in overseeing the daily operation of the department when the supervisor is not available or as assigned. The Crew Leader A performs supervisory and administrative duties such as preparing and maintaining records and reports such as payroll daily reports injury reports accident reports and other paperwork. Employee provides administrative and operation assistance to supervisor on routine duties as assigned. Must have general knowledge of TxDOT rules and regulations and general knowledge of excavators motor graders bulldozers fuel and lube trucks street sweepers water trucks patch trucks dump trucks front-end loaders backhoes flush/vacuum truck trailers dump trailers and street paving equipment. Employee must be able to work well under stress and be able to handle various tasks despite numerous interruptions in a courteous and professional manner is required to operate equipment and other duties as required and must abide by all safety rules and operational policies and procedures.
