QUALIFICATIONS:
- Holds a valid New York State Certification in any Core Area (7-12) or New York State Certification in Special Education (7-12)

- Demonstrated evidence of an ability to reflect and contemplate on ones teaching allowing for growth and excellence.
ESSENTIAL CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide support and assistance to students across academic content areas.
- Assist instructional staff with implementing and enhancing the Districts curriculum and programs.
- Plan and work collaboratively with teachers in a variety of settings including one-on-one small groups grade level meetings study groups workshops and faculty/staff meetings.
- Contribute to and support a District-wide effort to further develop a reflective learning community that engages in research-based high-yield instructional practices.
- Serve as a resource to classroom special area teachers and staff who support students.
- Assist in the gathering and analysis of data to identify student-focused goal(s) based on areas of need; Maintain records and provide updates as required.
- Debrief and provide feedback on instruction/student learning to facilitate teacher reflection and to identify/set goals and next steps;
- Build the capacity of teachers to support and facilitate the learning of their colleagues;
- Facilitate parent information sessions and/or develop parent resources;
- Demonstrate a commitment to personal growth through participation in professional learning.
- Collaborate with building and district administration.
- Perform other duties as assigned and attend required trainings.
PREFERRED CHARACTERISTICS:
- Experience with supporting students in a variety of settings
- Experience teaching in a learning lab setting
REPORTS TO: Assistant Superintendent for Instruction
SALARY: $47200-$53700 Per WTA Contract
Additionally 1/200 for up to 10 days between last student day and first student day. Other days and/or additional time as determined by the Assistant Superintendent for Instruction. This is a Teacher on Special Assignment (TOSA) position.
WORK CALENDAR: The teacher work year plus up to ten days.
