We are looking for a skilled Senior Engineering Manager to lead our Observability team. This role is based in Barcelona.
Your Role within the Kingdom
As an Senior Engineering Manager in Runtime & Insights your responsibility is to lead and empower the Observability team delivering tools and services that enhance the reliability and insights of our global operations. You are not only a manager but also a product visionary guiding both the technical roadmap and product strategy to ensure exceptional user value.
Youll lead a dedicated Observability team responsible for maintaining and advancing observability and reliability through robust logging metrics tracing and profiling solutions. The products your team delivers will support developers and operational teams across King ensuring optimal performance and health of our game platform.
Youll collaborate closely with engineering teams influencing strategies around how we monitor all King games and services across our Public Cloud footprint while championing best practices in DevOps and Site Reliability Engineering.
Key Responsibilities
Lead motivate and inspire a team of passionate engineers that own and operate the observability platform at King.
Lead both technical strategy and product management within Observability driving product vision and execution.
Build and evolve solutions for observability leveraging Grafana (collector and dashboarding) Loki (logs) Mimir (metrics) and Pyroscope (profiling).
Act as an ambassador for on-call practices leveraging PagerDuty for incident management and promoting robust reliability engineering culture.
Drive adoption and best practices for Site Reliability Engineering.
Collaborate effectively across King to understand business needs and align technical deliverables.
Foster a supportive inclusive team environment that nurtures career growth and team cohesion.
Skills to Create Thrills
7 years leading and motivating high performing engineering teams.
Deep expertise in cloud platforms particularly Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
Strong understanding of observability tools and concepts including metrics logs traces and profiling.
Practical experience with Grafana Loki Mimir Pyroscope and PagerDuty.
Solid experience managing technical teams driving product roadmaps and managing stakeholder expectations.
Proven leadership in creating a healthy engineering culture emphasizing collaboration innovation and continuous improvement.
Excellent strategic thinking capable of independently contributing to Kings broader technology and product strategies.
